You may want to call my program an App, Widget or a Gadget. I choose to call our two programs FileButler and FileButler Lite.
By any name, new user Programs, Widgets, Apps or Gadgets provide useful information when you want/need it. All good 'Computer Programs' do just that-- and MORE. Perhaps I should call my program a 'Computer Butler' but there is no such thing--until now! A computer Butler is scarce!
Computers can be intimidating at times. I have been working with computers and designing hardware/software products starting with the GE650 Computer, Data General (DG) & Digital Equipment Corp days--mid 1965. I designed a circuit, using Radio Shack parts, to send/receive digital data from/to a DG computer and save/send the data on my analog audio Wallensak tape recorder! I housed it in an old cigar box and still have both devices to this day.
Today, application programs become more complex and we have gererate and store more files on our computers. For example, I have over 50,000 files, including my picture files, on my computer. When you turn the computer on, it takes about 1 minute for FileButler to find all the files and display them into columns.
